Penelope Kokkinides currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for InnovaCare Health, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer. Kokkinides has more than 20 years of healthcare experience specializing in government programs and managed care, with an expertise in developing efficient clinical programs and managing healthcare operations.
From 2012 to 2021, Kokkinides served in various C-suite leadership roles with MMM Healthcare, Puerto Rico’s largest and oldest Medicare Advantage (MA) plan. Under InnovaCare leadership, MMM grew to become the ninth-largest MA plan in the country, serving more than 275,000 MA members and 314,000 Medicaid members. Kokkinides served as board chair for Fundación MMM, the employee-founded 501(c)(3) dedicated to serving elderly and impoverished Puerto Ricans. In 2021, MMM was purchased by Anthem Inc.
Kokkinides previously served as COO and VP of Clinical Operations of Aveta, Inc. Prior to InnovaCare Health, she served as Executive Vice President and COO for Centerlight HealthCare, where she was responsible for overall management and strategic direction of the managed care division. Other roles include COO of Touchstone Health and Corporate Vice President for Care Management and Disease Management at AmeriChoice.Kokkinides holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and classical languages from Binghamton University, a master’s degree in social work and a post-master’s program advanced degree in alcohol and substance abuse from New York University, and a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University.
